Artist Statement

My work is rooted in truth, vulnerability, and transformation. Through abstract and symbolic paintings, I explore identity, self-acceptance, healing, and the emotional complexities of being human—particularly as women. At the core of my practice is a desire to encourage people to love themselves, love one another, and embrace life without judgment. I believe our imperfections are not flaws to hide, but essential parts of our humanity worthy of celebration.

Much of my work is inspired by personal experience. Growing up in a strict and conservative environment, I struggled deeply with body image and the pressure to conform. Painting nude women became both an act of rebellion and a path toward healing. What began as a therapeutic process evolved into a visual affirmation of self-worth and acceptance. Today, I use the female form as a declaration of empowerment, inviting viewers to see themselves as bold, worthy, and enough exactly as they are.

Stylistically, my work blends abstraction with symbolism and often carries a celestial or ethereal quality that reflects the inner world rather than physical appearance. Each piece becomes a layered conversation about vulnerability, identity, and emotional truth.

Although acrylic paint is my primary medium, my process is intuitive and experimental. I incorporate materials such as plaster, gold leaf, wire, nails, sand, flowers, ink, glass beads, and textured gels—using them as metaphors for contrast, balance, and coexistence. A nail beside an orchid, for example, may symbolize strength and softness existing together. Curved and straight lines often represent opposing perspectives living in harmony.

My philosophy is simple: life is layered, messy, beautiful, and deeply honest—and my art reflects that reality. I aim to create work that honors both light and darkness, hope and struggle, without apology or perfection. Ultimately, I hope my paintings inspire reflection, healing, and emotional honesty. If someone sees themselves in my work and feels more whole because of it, then I have fulfilled my purpose as an artist.
